Spreading Goodness with Twitter for Good

Earlier in January, BakerRipley’s JW Peavy Senior Center was honored to host the Twitter for Good team.

More than 4,000 global Twitter employees volunteered at 51 nonprofits, including BakerRipley, across the City of Houston.

Earlier in January, BakerRipley’s JW Peavy Senior Center was honored to host the Twitter for Good team. Our seniors learned about Twitter, set up an email, and especially enjoyed playing bingo with the team. There was a true connection and our seniors enjoyed learning something new.

Meet David and Amelia.

Twitter employee, or Tweeps, completed close to 13,200 service hours and worked on projects ranging from sorting food at the Houston Food Bank, planting community gardens, teaching seniors on how to use Twitter, and more. Twitter Co-Founder and CEO, Jack Dorsey, along with Co-Founder Biz Stone were among the team of volunteers.

A shared mission

At BakerRipley, we bring resources, education, and connection, by working with our neighbor’s side by side. We exist to keep Houston a place of opportunity for all, a place where everyone can earn a livable wage.

Similarly, the philanthropic mission of Twitter for Good is to harness the positive power of Twitter to make the world a better place. Working together we can build pathways for our neighbors to prosper and thrive.
