Every year, more than 13,000 runners, supporters, volunteers, donors, and media come out to support the BakerRipley Houston Turkey Trot.
Phillips 66, our 10K and 5K race sponsor, has been supporting Turkey Trot in a variety of ways for five years now.
“Turkey Trot brings Houston together as a community. Our employees come out and volunteer on race-day and are active in the community throughout the year,” says Claudia Kreisle, Director of Philanthropy at Phillips 66.
Phillips 66 is committed to making a difference globally by giving back locally. The company invests in three focus areas: education and literacy, the environment and sustainability, and community safety and preparedness.
“All the programs BakerRipley offers don’t necessarily fit in one of our focus areas, it almost fits into all of them. There’s a little bit of something for everything we support, especially how it brings that sense of community,” explains Claudia.
In line with BakerRipley programs around workforce and education, Phillips 66 understands that an educated workforce drives our economic future. They support literacy skills, young leadership training and science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education programs. This is a big focus for BakerRipley as well.
In addition, their community safety and preparedness focus helps protect employees, neighbors, family, and friends from the effects of natural disasters, health concerns and other risks.
Phillips 66 is committed to making a difference all year long, and we’re proud to have them as supporters as we work to create a positive impact around Houston and beyond.
