Keep Families Together

BakerRipley does not support families being torn apart who are fleeing to our southern border for safety. We cannot stand for a reality that is defined in this way. It is not HUMAN

For more than 110 years, BakerRipley has welcomed people to Houston, regardless of their origin or status, or whether they come to pursue a better life or flee political oppression or violence- they should have the opportunity to pursue not simply the American Dream, but the human dream.

And if there was ever a time when we needed to be reminded of our shared humanity, it is now.

2,000 children have been separated from their parents in the last 6 weeks and those numbers continue to rise every day.

BakerRipley does not support families being torn apart who are fleeing to our southern border for safety. We cannot stand for a reality that is defined in this way. It is not HUMAN.

Our organization is committed to providing direct legal representation to separated families housed in Houston area detention centers. And we are working with state-wide and national coalitions to educate the community about the impacts of this policy. BakerRipley will continue to advocate for the families who come to this region – taking action to keep welcome alive.

As a nation, we desperately need sensible and comprehensive immigration reform. We need pragmatic solutions to address this issue- end the immediate cruelty to children and deal fairly and justly with people seeking asylum.

We must work together to keep this region a welcoming place of opportunity – for everyone. Stand with us as we help give those in need their HUMANITY back.
