Founded in 1907 in Houston’s Second Ward (today’s East End), BakerRipley is a nationally recognized non-profit in Texas, delivering holistic community-based programs and services that bring resources, education, and connection to more than half a million individuals each year.

We exist to keep the Houston region a place of opportunity for all.

BakerRipley works with residents in more than 60 service locations to help them discover the strengths and skills necessary to become productive, prosperous, and self-sufficient. Allowing neighbors to fulfill their aspirations to earn, learn, belong, and be well.

Through our work in socioeconomic mobility, health and wellness, and disaster recovery, BakerRipley addresses the inequities that prevent our neighbors from accessing or navigating a pathway to their aspirations.

For 113 years, BakerRipley has created community-based programs and services alongside our neighbors, partners, and supporters- bringing solutions that work to our communities.

Our history, rooted in the Settlement House Movement, coupled with our experience in community development, and deep understanding of the landscape has allowed us to address the relevant and most pressing issues that our neighbors and region face.
